Its how we do it/ Ao F.A.T/ SHIKISHAUUU!! Aweh x4

(VERSE 1 – SCAR)
Usually I’m the first to admit it when I’m the wrong one/
Took a bit of knowing the music but in the long run/
I saw my thoughts change with time, started speaking my mind/
To politicians never seeking a side/
Just a public school kid who found it easy to rhyme/
And my parents signed the contract to get me to smile/
I was 16 with sixteens, big dreams and big screams got me dreaming of popping in big screens/
Grew up in the city with my moms and pops/
Little sister hype man til’ the day that I stop/
That’s who the space for when I’m alone on stage/
Went from rapping with a broom to the shows on stage/
Tongue right, throw the scale at your boy if the son light/
Full eclipse on you niggas I’m blocking the sunlight/
All heads rapping cos you see the bars is back/
Why retire when I’m tighter than a scar intact/
If you ask around Botswana papa SCAR is rap/
You can keep on with the acts mare SCAR is back with scars on his back/
Knife wounds human attacks/
Like a Desperado SCAR got guitars on his back/
I ain’t here to ask critics ‘bout who can rap/
Only time I ever testifiy I knew the facts/
Always see me without the jewels so they quick to assume/
I’m like you inside your momma house cleaning your room/

(HOOK – Sasa Klaas)

Never thought one day/
I would have everything my way/
My blessings on delay/
GOD SAID IT WILL BE OK
It will be OK (X2)

VERSE 2
Only thought of silver spoons cos I used my hands/
Never thinking love would come and then confuse the plans/
Comfortable and lost ambition, now I’m a dad/
Got my purpose back when I had my boy in my hands/
Saw him into the World best moment I had/
Dope, like the new relationship I got with my dad/
Posted in the back of a van chilling with fam/
Smiling with the sun in my face feet in the sand
Now they say bosses push while a leader should pull/
The exception to the rule, I was never a fool/
Serve your woman with the cool when I step in the room/
Cooler than a day in June when the camera zooms/
Leader of platoons, erase you like a cartoon/
Step on dudes like a stool and stuff you back in your tomb/
Call Blain for extra body bags for you and your crew/
Just because I love the view doesn’t mean imma move/
Yeah it’s true that some nudes end up making the news/
That’s because you fxck with dudes that don’t follow the rules/
One of the few you crazy tryna put on my shoes/
Ola 7 when attacking cos I cover my 2/
Overlapping when I’m rapping cos I’m better than you/
I was trapping when I flew off to the back of the moon/
Found my way back never far away from the tunes/
Achilles in Troy, niggas is Orlando Blooms

AbTheActivist Presents ‘Block 7 Tapes’ – The Authentic Sound of the Streets

Published

on

There are projects that simply exist, and then there are projects that are a moment. ‘Block 7 Tapes,’ curated and brought to life under the visionary guidance of AbTheActivist, unequivocally falls into the latter category. This isn’t just a collection of tracks; it’s a raw, homegrown sonic tapestry woven from the very fabric of Block 7 itself, capturing its essence, its voices, and its undeniable energy.

As AbTheActivist himself states, ‘Block 7 Tapes’ is “real voices, real stories, and a sound that could only come from this place, at this time.” This sentiment resonates deeply throughout the project, promising an unfiltered, authentic glimpse into the pulse of the community. It’s a testament to the talent brewing within Block 7, brought to the forefront by AbTheActivist’s keen ear and strategic vision.

While I haven’t had the pleasure of fully immersing myself in the sound of ‘Block 7 Tapes’ yet, the tracklist alone hints at a diverse and compelling journey:

The recurring presence of Legae2x suggests a strong collaborative dynamic, hinting at a cohesive sound and shared artistic vision within the project. The inclusion of Veezo View on “Cash Right” is particularly exciting, promising another dose of that signature confidence and smooth delivery we’ve come to expect from him. With AbTheActivist himself handling production on multiple tracks, and contributions from Mr Kgosi, the project promises a distinct and unified sound.

‘Block 7 Tapes’ feels like an auditory postcard from the streets, a genuine representation of what “Block 7 feels like.” It’s a celebration of local talent, a platform for authentic narratives, and a powerful statement about the creative energy emanating from specific corners of Botswana’s urban landscape. For those seeking to connect with the true, unfiltered sound of the streets and discover emerging voices, this project is an absolute must-listen.

Project Press Release: On Kalahari Coyote, Jordan MoOzy Explores Musicality and Self-Actualisation

EP Details

Artist: Jordan MoOzy

Album: Kalahari Coyote

Genre: Afro-Pop

Johannesburg, South Africa – After the release of his De’Grace EP over 3 years ago Jordan MoOzy makes his return to music with Kalahari Coyote EP, out 6th June 2025 on all digital platforms. Containing 3 engaging tracks, the EP draws on 80’s soundscapes and adds to them a cross-cultural twist.

With contributions by producers Simba Tagz, Thelordjazz and Fella, MoOzy channels his fluid storytelling abilities to reflect on both contemporary romance and the enduring human spirit. “The Kalahari Coyote is a symbol of resilience and adaptation born from the intersection of cultures and landscapes,” Jordan MoOzy shares. “Inspired by the harsh yet beautiful Kalahari Desert, this fictional creature embodies the spirit of perseverance. As a reflection of my own journey as an immigrant, the Kalahari Coyote represents the struggles and triumphs of finding a home in unfamiliar territories.” On Chivalry, for instance, MoOZy sets out to conquer his destiny by unfurling the unknown, making space for himself through both his writing and strides between afrobeats, hip hop and r&b-infused synth pop.

There’s an afropolitan impulse flowing through the Kalahari Coyote EP with sprinklings its cadences situating it in the current zeitgeist of African sounds. Recorded with a similarly cosmopolitan set of collaborators, the EP retains layers of influence mimicking MoOzy’s upbringing. “The EP stands for embracing one’s roots while navigating the complexities of identity and culture,” he says. “It’s about finding ways to thrive in environments that may not have been designed for you, and creating a sense of community in the process.” This shines through on a song like No Time, which bouncily advocates for seizing the opportunities life offers. The thematic base of this EP also blends eras, with MoOzy blending familiar continental elements with 70s and 80s aesthetics. That fusion of worlds is a feature of MoOzy’s artistic pedigree, as his versatility has shown with previous cross-genre explorations.

Kalahari Coyote folds that all together, traversing eras, styles and influences while emotively conveying different facets of our being while we strive to find ourselves. The Kalahari Coyote is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for resilience, adaptation, according to Jordan. It’s all about “the pursuit of belonging and the alchemy in having a blast while doing what we love”. This fashion of worldbuilding has its roots in Jordan MoOzy’s aim to portray relatable stories through striking melodies and homegrown rhythms. That sense extends across the entire EP with a palpable feeling of wanting to belong – somewhere, to something or to someone – anchoring these jams created at the intersection of nostalgia and Afrofuturism. This quality imbues Kalahari Coyote with a refreshing essence, reframing what pop music means to an artist leading the way for Gen Zs across Africa who are trying to find their place in the world.

Danielle Swagger Pushes the Limit with Bold New Single “NTL (Nothin To Lose)”

Published

on

With her latest release, “NTL (Nothin To Lose),” Botswana’s own Danielle Swagger returns with intent—fierce, focused, and ready to claim her space. Dropped on May 9, 2025, the track brings together trap, melodic rap, and hip hop in a polished three-and-a-half-minute statement of unapologetic ambition and inner strength.

From the jump, NTL wastes no time setting its tone. Produced by Nasty Kanier, the beat moves with weight—moody synths and knocking drums forming a backdrop for Danielle’s crisp flow and sharp lyricism. But beneath the slick delivery is a message of resilience, a story of moving forward even when everything’s stacked against you.

There’s a spiritual undertone to the track—a kind of fearless faith that fuels each bar. Danielle Swagger doesn’t just rap to flex—she raps to reaffirm purpose, to inspire, and to remind the listener that survival is its own kind of power. It’s motivational without being preachy, raw without losing polish.

The hook is catchy, almost chant-like, sticking with you long after the beat fades out. It’s easy to imagine NTL playing in the background of gym sessions, pre-show rituals, or early morning commutes—the kind of track that gets you out of your head and into motion.

With this drop, Danielle Swagger continues to evolve—not just as an artist, but as a voice for a new wave of Botswana hip hop. Her style is clean, commercially viable, but grounded in authenticity. “NTL” isn’t chasing hype—it’s building momentum.
