We let it be known last week after a quick chat with Scar that the brand new single #SickMan would be dropping and it’s here. ‘Back with another’ as the big Kwena usually says and it’s a banger, lovely production from the homie Drak (o le wa Phikwe, also produced Scar’s Dimakatso) who lays a subtle musical canvas for Scar and allows him to tell the story. I wouldn’t call it a typical street banger, but the streets will surely love it (even the Twitter streets), it’s not a club banger either but is almost certified to go on and move crowds in waves at concerts so shouts to Scar and team . Between the street narrative and the conversation with his son Adrian, Scar also weaves emotion into the hood which just makes the song one to note for the year ’18. Licky’s lyrics exude confidence, likening herself to a diamond as one would shine brightly under immense pressure. The collaboration between Licky and Katlego Ramphaleng is giving, with their voices blending effortlessly over Bangu’s production. The result is an R&B gem infused with Botswana’s unique flavor. “Pressure (Diamond)” is a testament to staying strong in the face of adversity, and it’s a refreshing addition to the music scene.
