Gaborone – Youth radio station, Yarona FM, today launches the fourth edition of their 2017 Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) ceremony which will be held on the 3rd February 2017.

For four years, Yarona FM has collaborated artists to elevate the music and entertainment industry in Botswana. The YAMAs are a platform Yarona FM created as a means of contributing to building the entertainment industry in Botswana. As a way of continuing with the contribution towards the welfare of local artists, Yarona FM decided to celebrate music through annual music awards. This year marks the fourth installment of the YAMAs, which launched in 2013. The YAMAs have created a competitive atmosphere for artists to serve their audience quality music from production to delivery.

Station Manager at Yarona FM, Kelly Ramputswa said, “The 4th Annual YAMAs will be another platform where we honor our artists in the music industry. The YAMAs will showcase the talent in BW, not only for musicians but for the designers too. People will be wearing the best of the best from designers in Botswana. This year we are delighted to add a new category. That is The Best RNB category. As Yarona FM we are looking forward to this fourth installment. The launch will be an exciting feature showcasing our artists.”

Ramputswa added that she is delighted that the awards are back for another year and looks forward to a momentous evening which will showcase amazing talent and celebrate the quality of music that has evolved over the years. “It is pleasing to see the growth and progression in all local acts in our music industry, they need to be reminded that this doesn’t go unnoticed. I think this has been reflected in the choice of nominees this year, she concluded.
