BW’s urban culture is upping the ante and really taking care of it’s own, the beauty in what we’re witnessing right now is the emergence of urban culture platforms aimed at sustaining and building up the culture with some individuals carrying whole initiatives on their shoulders.

Street Culture cyphers are the brain child of Street Fest an annual youth run event in its second year and Eyes of Brandon, a local YouTube channel focused on the music industry in Botswana. We felt people weren’t rapping. They weren’t showing that they could rap. So we had to do something to shake up the game. This is merely talent based. We’re not going to bring ‘clout’ artists. We want artists who rap. And in both cyphers you can see that everyone laid it down. We also wanna use these as a platform for unearthed talent. They’ll be held annually and it’s a promise from us to you that the next ones are going to be even crazier!🔥

“My motivation to other young people is to be innovative. Bring fresh ideas to the game. We’re tired of everyone doing the same thing. Do something different and make your mark”, that’s Tango as he remarked about his vision and wishes for the game. I have to agree with him, the culture will only grow to be as strong as the ideas we birth and implement around it, and they have to be original or extend the impact of one if they’re similar in concept. Hope you enjoy this
