Watch Botswana MC’s take on @WikidSA’s #BoomBap16Challenge
When Wikid, one of South Africa’s OG rap kings took to the internet to lay down the gauntlet and challenged MCs’ to drop hot 16’s last week; i bet he wasn’t anticipating that Botswana would rise and take up the offer but then again Hiphop is boundariless. South Afriac & Botswana have a lot in common beyond the obvious border, from music, to languages, people, vibes, events, urban culture and more. Hiphop is right in that mix and boy have the 267 MC’s been hungry to lay down the law. The OG’s and Hiphop lovers are in for a treat and we’ve compiled a list of the BW emcees who we’ve scene respond to the #BoomBap16Challenge just for your pleasure. For the love of Rap, Wikid decided to challenge some OGs in SA Hip Hop by dropping freestyles over some old school instrumentals. The rules are pretty simple; all you gotta do is select an old school beat, record yourself dropping a sixteen over it and then post with the hashtag.
