Stretch’s VoxRated – SaL Angel [ 2 ]

Here is a voice that I am actively jealous of. And as a somewhat accomplished singer in my own right, that’s saying something.

AngeL has this thing where he starts off in his extremely rich and booming baritone and then jumps – not slides, jumps – into his serenading and breathy falsetto. All so effortlessly. And it gets me every time.

It’s also worthy of note that mister man is a producer, and hence has specialized knowledge of how to work his voice on a record. And it shows. Anyone who’s heard Beast, a song off their debut release (and my favorite song of Ice Cold, shut up), would note how his vocal is chopped over the chorus, no doubt handcrafted as such.

He just has a thing for catchy choruses, man. I don’t know. I’m literally sitting here waiting for the day SaL Angel sings a hook that’s just meh. It’s like he’s just got me listening for what he’s gonna do next.
